We are looking forward to a great 2010-2011 school year and have a set of incredible events planned for all of you. 

THANK YOU OLD EXEC BOARD!
First and foremost, the 2010-2011 Executive Board would like to thank last year's board for all their hardwork and enthusiasm. They are some of the most eccentric and dynamic people on UMD's campus! Thank you Rahul Vinod, Joel Pallikal, Vineet Khanna, Samir Kumar, Rachana Patel, Kishan Thadikonda, and all the other volunteers and groups that made last year a success. 



START OF THE YEAR POOL PARTY
It has been a tradition for ISA to introduce and acclimate both new and old members together at the first ISA mixer of the year. This year, the ISA Pool Party will be held at the Outdoor Pool at the Eppley Rec Center on North Campus on August 29th, 2010. Most of you will have moved in to your dorms/apartments by then, making this is a perfect opportunity to relax after the move-in stress. FRESHMEN - come out and introduce yourselves to us! This is a perfect opportunity for all students to network, make more friends, and have an outlet for relaxation. 


FIRST-LOOK FAIR
The FLF is one of the largest events on campus where hundreds of student organizations, clubs, and other groups assemble on the Mall in front of McKeldin Library to recruit new members and encourage student involvement in extracurricular activities. ISA will have a table setup on the Mall, so come say hi and sign up for our listserve so that we can keep you updated with all ISA future events and announcements. Look out for us on September 15-16, 2010 on the Mall.

GENERAL BODY MEETING
ISA will host its GBM at Stamp Student Union in September (details TBA). This is one of the most highly attended events held by any cultural organization on campus and there will be over 20 other student groups, fraternities, and sororities present. The theme this year is INDIAN CARNIVAL. So come, bring your friends, and enjoy an evening of games and prizes while meeting dozens of other organizations that could be the perfect match for you. This will also be the first opportunity for freshmen to show their interest in filling the Freshmen Executive position (an executive board position open to incoming freshmen).


FRESHMEN EXECUTIVE APPLICATION
The position of Freshmen Executive is a vital one to the role of ISA's E-board. This individual is expected to show a profound sense of creativity and enthusiasm, especially in connecting the freshmen on campus to the rest of ISA and its events. Applications for this position will be available at the First Look Fair and at GBM. Applicants will be selected for interviews if they appear to be good candidates. We encourage as many freshmen as possible to apply for this position as it will be your most rewarding experience during the year!
